Feature availability
Use this page as the single place for maturity status. Operational guides link here instead of repeating release caveats.
Documentation revision: 2026-10-25
Package version: run atomos-cli --version on each host (see .vitepress/release-meta.ts).
Status legend
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Stable | Documented operational path suitable for production when prerequisites are met |
| Preview | Available for evaluation; UI or behavior may change |
| Planned | Direction is known; not ready for production reliance |
| Deprecated | Superseded; migrate before removal |
| Undetermined | Capability may exist on some builds; confirm with Elemento or your release notes before design commitments |
Each row has one status. Dependencies and limits appear in the Notes column.
Core platform
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Install roles (compute, storage, full, atomosgui) | Stable | OS role limits: Hardware. Install |
atomos-cli bootstrap (get-atomos.sh) | Stable | Prefer download-then-execute. Quick start |

Virtual machines and placement
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Live migration (eligible guests) | Stable | Needs compatible CPU, reachable storage, no blocking passthrough. HA |
| Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB) | Preview | Not a substitute for HA. DLB |
| Automatic host-failure VM recovery | Undetermined | May recreate on peers when volumes and trust allow — validate per topology. HA |
| Live CPU / RAM change | Preview | Guest-dependent. Live resource changes |
| Live attach / detach volume or network | Preview | Live resource changes |
| Live VM rename | Undetermined | Confirm in Electros / GUI on your build |
| GPU / PCI passthrough | Stable | Migration usually blocked. GPU |
| GPU partitioning (vGPU / MIG / SR-IOV orchestration) | Planned | Distinct from passthrough |
| USB passthrough | Undetermined | Not documented as a product path here |
| Volume import (qcow2, raw, VMDK, VDI, VHDX) | Stable | Migration |
Networking and security
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Bridge setup (br0) | Stable | Disruptive if management NIC moves. Networking |
| Guest VLAN metadata (libvirt VLAN tags) | Preview | Switch trunk required. VLANs |
| TLS + fingerprint trust (Electros) | Stable | From 0.9 |
| Peer certificate pinning | Stable | atomos-cli --get-certificate — not the same as mTLS. Security |

Storage and backup
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Vault create / edit via atomos-cli | Stable | Do not hand-edit settings.json |
| Alternate backends (ZFS, Gluster, mdadm, NFS, iSCSI, …) | Undetermined | Technically mountable on Linux ≠ officially tested AtomOS integration for every OS |

| Hypervisor-aware Veeam | Undetermined | Separate from vault file-level |
| Electros-native Veeam management | Planned | Not documented as available |
| Storage client API on TCP 27777 | Stable (loopback use in docs) | Remote auth/transport: treat carefully. Migration |
Host platforms
Host OS support is documented in Hardware & platforms. Prefer AlmaLinux 9 for compute/full. Ubuntu/Debian are storage-oriented. Re-validate the matrix against your release QA before fleet rollout.
How to verify on a host
bash
sudo atomos-cli --verify-install
sudo atomos-cli --info
sudo atomos-cli --healthcheck
sudo atomos-cli --version
